May 14 / November 5 2023
For the first time, Teatro Massimo and Palazzo Butera organize a joint exhibition, ideally linking the rooms of the 18th-century palace overlooking the sea with the theatre, the beating heart of the city of Palermo.
Elisabeth Scherffig, Contrappunto traces the choices of the German artist who has designed the images for the current Teatro Massimo’s season of operas, ballets and concerts.
The exhibition intends to create a dialogue between music and drawing.
The free stroke of the internationally renowned artist, who is exhibiting for the first time in Palermo, acts like a sound, giving rhythm to an exploration among vineyards, quarries, geologies and Roman walls where the gaze generates curiosity in the beholder.
