A minute of silence before the reply of Toreador and Cavalleria Rusticana to commemorate the 700 migrants who died in the shipwreck in the Strait of Sicily. The audience at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo observed this today, at 5pm, accepting the invitation of the mayor and president of the Teatro Massimo Foundation Leoluca Orlando and the superintendent Francesco Giambrone. “A necessary initiative – says Giambrone – to remember the enormity of the tragedy that occurred near us and in the face of which no one can remain indifferent”. Again as a sign of mourning, flags will be at half-mast at the Teatro Massimo tomorrow.
