Graham Vick conducts Wagner’s “Siegfried” at the Teatro Massimo: premiere on Friday. Tomorrow at 3 pm at the Caffè del Teatro press meeting with the director and director Reck. Great new production: it is the third act of the Ring which started in 2013, with Götterdämmerung in January. In the intervals, dinners inspired by Wagner, in the booklet a “photo story” of previous works.

It is a Siegfried read with a contemporary look that will debut on Friday 18th at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo directed by Graham Vick – one of the most interesting protagonists on the international scene – and director Stefan Anton Reck, who was musical director at the Massimo from 1999 to 2003, inaugurating the 2001 season with Berg’s Lulu. A Siegfried conceived specifically for the city of Palermo starting from the space of the Teatro Massimo, in which the great Wagnerian heroes become everyday characters dealing with worries, enthusiasms, disappointments, pains, and in which the great watershed of life is that between power and Love. A great event: five hours of show, broken up by two intervals during which (for those who want it) a dinner dedicated to Wagner and his stay in Sicily, between German and Mediterranean flavours, will be served at the Caffè del Teatro.

Domani, mercoledì 16 dicembre 2015 alle 15 l’incontro per la stampa con il regista Graham Vick e il direttore Stefan Reck.
Siegfried è la terza parte della monumentale Tetralogia di Wagner. Un progetto di vaste dimensioni iniziato nel 2013 in coincidenza con il bicentenario della nascita del compositore tedesco e che ha riscosso un grande successo di pubblico e critica.
Le prime due parti sono andate in scena nel 2013: Des Rheingold (L’Oro del Reno) e Die Walküre (La Valchiria), sempre per la regia di Vick. A Das Rheingold l’Associazione nazionale critici musicali ha assegnato il Premio Abbiati quale miglior spettacolo del 2013. Per coloro che volessero “ripassare” le due “puntate” precedenti, il Teatro Massimo ha varato nell’occasione due iniziative. Giovedì 17 e sabato 19 la proiezione integrale e gratuita delle due opere in sala Onu: giovedì 17 dalle 15 alle 18 L’Oro del Reno, e dalle 18.30 alle 22.30 La Valchiria; sabato 19 dalle 10.30 alle 13.30 L’Oro del Reno e dalle 14 alle 18 La Valchiria. La seconda iniziativa, ideata dallo stesso Graham Vick, vede nel libretto di sala un riassunto delle due opere precedenti concepito come un fotoromanzo: la trama delle due opere è ripercorsa attraverso fotografie dove i personaggi “parlano”, proprio come in un fumetto.
